Active Imagination in Movement (AIM)

  • Connectedself 430 Waterloo Street London, ON, N6B 2P2 Canada (map)

Active Imagination in Movement (AIM) practice is a contemplative movement and gestural practice of inviting the unconscious to emerge. This practice is both creative and a deep soulful moving practice that develops an inner self witness to the emergence of unconscious material and felt sensation. The container for this practice is one’s physical body as well as an external witness. This practice happens within a dyadic form of mover and witness.

These practices are for anyone interested in the embodied language of the unconscious. We explore the use of storytelling, ecology, and language of the body.

Commitment to the process is required with each AM practice happening every month. Each practice is 2.5-hour practices that include a sensorial, breath/sound or an imagery-based warm-up to prepare the self and the body.

The proposed dates for the practices for 2023-2024 are September 24th, October 29th, December 17th, January 28th, February 25th, April 7th, April 28th, May 26th, and June 30th. (Total 9)

Practices happen every last Sunday of the month from 4:30-7 pm. Providing a safe environment involves committing to attend most practices over the year.
