Spring Somatic Movement Experiences:
March 29th, April 19th, May 31st, June 28
With a somatic method approach of paying attention in the moment and the exploration that we become agent in our own self learning, healing and encourage the living dynamics of freedom and choice.
Through these somatic movement experiences we will develop patience and introduce possible paths of movement that renew the nervous system and responsiveness of the person. We organize the body on a higher level function, and so move beyond habits.
March 29th : Depth Movement: This movement experience has each mover having a witness. The mover has eyes closed and initiates movement through listening to inner impulses. This is a deep, soulful practice of being fully witnessed
April 19th: Responsive Dance: We live in connection to the spaces we occupy, the space between us as human beings and the play between being physically in contact, sharing movement and inspiring movement for others. We explore all these connections.
May 31st: Responsive Dance 2: A beautiful dance evolves where there is both support and emergence of shared movement. We will play with ways we touch and not just with hands but other body parts to support, assist in movement and initiate shared movement experiences.
June 28th: Moving with and as Nature. Nature has the same patterns as our own physical body. We are of nature and find solitude and integration when in nature. In this class we will explore imagery and states of nature through the use of elements: air, water, fire and earth.
